Donna Smith

M.S.Ed., BCET, C-SLDS

Donna Smith has been in education in some capacity since 1974.  Her education consists of a B.A. from The University of North Carolina and a Master of Science Degree from The University of Dayton. Beginning as an Elementary Teacher in North Carolina, she continued teaching after moving to Ohio.  

Donna holds a current Professional Elementary (1-8) License from the State of Ohio Department of Education with Endorsements as a Literacy Specialist, in Pre-K, and Reading K-12. She also holds a Board Certification in Educational Therapy. Donna is trained in Orton-Gillingham - an instructional approach intended primarily for use with individuals who have difficulty with reading, spelling, and writing of the sort associated with dyslexia.   

Donna has taught as a Reading Specialist for the past 25 years and as an Educational Therapist for eight years.  

All students, she believes, can learn. They just need to utilize their own learning style and the appropriate strategies from their growing toolbox.
